Technically Creative Newsletter
December 2025
Welcome to the December edition of the Technically Creative newsletter.
Editor's Note from CEO & Founder, Orlando Wood:
As the year draws to its curtain call, I find myself reflecting on how quickly a small idea can turn into a living, breathing enterprise when it is surrounded by the right people and a healthy dose of ambition.
KoobrikLabs began the year as a simple notion. We asked what might happen if creative companies finally had a technology partner that understood creativity on its own terms. Since then, that notion has grown into something far larger. We launched the company. We became AWS Advanced Partners. Through our partnership with The Hypercube Group, we widened our reach and became a truly global operation.
Hollywood played its part as well. We were invited back to Warner Bros Innovate on the Lot to speak to the next cohort of companies navigating the studio system. To our great pride, Warner Bros held us up as an example of how to collaborate with a storied entertainment institution with clarity and purpose. The relationships we have built there feel like the beginning of something lasting.
We also had the privilege of working with exceptional clients. Superbloom House, shortlisted by Adweek for Breakthrough Agency of the Year, brought us into their orbit. A24 continued scaling their in house tech and placed our Koobrik Screenplay Management tool at the center of it. Working with clients who are shaping culture in real time has been one of the genuine pleasures of this year.
And then there is the podcast. What began as a modest experiment became a surprising success. We sat down with remarkable guests, among them Andre Vargas of CAA, Lion King Director Rob Minkoff, Roblox’s Sue Anderson, and Hollywood legend Jon Peters. The show grew to nearly 150,000 subscribers on YouTube and entered the Top 40 Tech Podcasts in the United States on Apple Podcasts!
Through all of this, I feel nothing but gratitude. For our clients. For our team. And for everyone who believed in what we are building. If this year is any indication, the next will be even more remarkable.
Till 2026!

KoobrikLabs illuminates the hidden economies behind play
Reforged Studios builds player-driven worlds where currencies and assets carry real value. As those worlds grew, so did the complexity of managing fast-moving, blockchain-powered economies - markets shaped by thousands of players, live token activity, and unpredictable on-chain data.
KoobrikLabs partnered with Reforged to bring clarity to the chaos. We built a two-phase analytics platform that captures blockchain activity in real time and translates it into clean economic intelligence. No guesswork, no blind spots - just a live view of money supply, inflation signals, player behavior, and marketplace health.
The result: stronger economic stability, faster decision-making, and a scalable data foundation that supports every new game Reforged launches.
When creative tech gets it right
We attended the Artist and the Machine LA Summit, and it’s clear the team has created something genuinely special.
Across the room, one theme kept coming up: in an era of infinite generation, meaning becomes the scarce resource. As production gets faster and cheaper, audiences respond to intention, emotional resonance, and a distinct creative point of view.
Another clear takeaway was the risk to authorship. Without the right guardrails, AI can blur or even erase creative identity. The easier these tools become to use, the more important it is to protect style, rights, and worldview.
And it was clear that the future will not hinge on whether AI was used but on how and why it was used. AI literacy matters, but AI values matter more.
Our latest blog dives deeper into these insights and what they mean for creative teams.

New talent pipeline for the AI era
Music.AI published a feature with insights from our CEO, Orlando Wood, on how AI is reshaping the way Hollywood discovers new creators.
Orlando argues that the real shift isn’t in how stories are produced, but in who gets discovered. As creation tools open up, the next generation of storytellers may emerge from fan communities and solo creators, with studios adopting a more active scout-team approach to talent development.
He also highlights why studios will retain power through IP and distribution, while raising important concerns about the economic pressures facing working creatives.
Technically Creative breaks the top 40!
A huge milestone this month: the Technically Creative podcast is now ranked 39th in the United States.
What began as a simple idea – honest conversations with the people reshaping creative industries has grown into a community far larger than we expected. Each episode continues to spark meaningful dialogue around the tools, pressures, and possibilities redefining modern creative work.
Thank you to everyone who’s listened, shared an episode, or reached out with ideas. This community is what makes this series worth creating.
More great conversations ahead, we’re only just getting started.
KoobrikLabs is now an AWS Advanced Tier Partner
We’re proud to share that KoobrikLabs has achieved AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner status, a milestone that reflects our deep expertise in building reliable, scalable AI and data systems on AWS.
This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance solutions for creative, media, and production teams, and opens the door to even more powerful tooling ahead.

The Next Great Small Agency Will be Data Native
The rules of the agency world are changing fast. Creative intuition alone isn’t enough, the next generation of breakout agencies will be the ones that treat data as a core creative input, not an afterthought.
In our latest piece, we break down why the old data moats have finally cracked, how language models are unlocking the “creative data” layer that’s been invisible for decades, and why small and midsize agencies suddenly have an advantage the holding companies didn’t see coming.
From aspect-level sentiment analysis to LLM-powered insight pipelines, we outline a practical 90-day plan to help any agency become truly data-first and compete at a level that once required tens of millions in infrastructure.
If you're building the agency of the next decade, this is your blueprint.
Upcoming webinar: Redefining creative workflows
KoobrikLabs is teaming up with MASV for a new-year session focused on how creative teams can reclaim time and clarity through smarter operations. People, Process, and Data: Redefining Creative Workflows in 2026 will explore what it truly means to build workflows that support better thinking, sharper iteration, and more intentional creative work.
Nathaniel Chadwick (KoobrikLabs) and Conner Stirling (MASV) will discuss how modern production environments can reduce operational pressure, streamline heavy file movement, and make room for deeper creative focus.
They’ll also look ahead at the trends shaping creative technology in 2026 and what teams can expect as the landscape evolves.
SuperBloom makes the Adweek shortlist
We’re thrilled to celebrate SuperBloom House on being shortlisted for Adweek’s Breakthrough Agency of the Year, a well-earned recognition for a team that’s been quietly reinventing what a modern creative company can be.
While many debate the “future agency model,” SuperBloom has been building it seamlessly connecting strategy, creative, production, and post in a way few can match. Seeing their process up close makes it obvious why they’re earning this spotlight.
KoobrikLabs is proud to be a small part of their journey and even prouder to call them partners and friends.
Decoding Hollywood’s narrative DNA
In this season finale of Technically Creative, Orlando sits down with Yves Bergquist, Director of the AI & Media Project at USC’s Entertainment Technology Center and CEO of Corto AI.
Yves breaks down how data and AI are reshaping Hollywood’s understanding of story - decoding the “narrative DNA” of films and TV to modeling the emotional arcs that drive audience engagement. The conversation also turns personal, as Yves reflects on the mistakes that reshaped his life and the path back to integrity.
A compelling look at where storytelling, data, and humanity intersect.
Orlando joins the AdBits podcast
Orlando recently stepped into the guest seat on Alex Grossman’s AdBits podcast, a fun change of pace for someone used to being on the editing side of the mic.
In the conversation, he digs into the ongoing collision of AI and creativity, separating myth from reality and addressing the security and copyright concerns that come with working inside these models. He highlights why AI represents one of the largest copyright challenges in history and why creative teams need to stay sharp, informed, and intentional in how they use these tools.
It’s a thoughtful, candid discussion about where the industry is headed and the guardrails we need along the way.
Keeping complex TV worlds consistent
We helped a major TV studio solve a growing challenge: keeping complex story worlds consistent across multiple seasons. KoobrikLabs built a real-time lore intelligence system that ingests full scripts and makes character histories, relationships, timelines, and past events instantly searchable.
The studio’s writers’ rooms were juggling large volumes of interconnected story information across scripts, production notes, and evolving arcs. Narrative complexity and manual research were slowing down creative momentum and increasing the risk of continuity gaps. Our system gives writers instant, story-wide awareness through natural language search, structured continuity tracking, and a RAG knowledge base built specifically for long-form storytelling.
Writers can now surface key details in seconds, reduce manual research overload, and maintain stronger continuity across seasons while supporting a more consistent, confident, and creatively free writing process.
Making comic universes searchable
We partnered with a major global entertainment publisher to explore how AI could help their teams navigate decades of interconnected comic stories. With scripts, PDFs, lettering files, and metadata scattered across archives, even simple continuity questions often required hours of manual searching.
KoobrikLabs built a proof of concept that transformed two comic titles into a structured, searchable knowledge base. Using agentic retrieval and natural-language queries, teams can now surface character appearances, plot details, creative credits, and issue-level context in seconds.
The result is a smarter, faster way to explore story worlds, verify continuity, and unlock the value of legacy archives with a clear path for scaling across the full catalog.
